Bahir Dar - Tis Esat Road Construction Project

The project is an upgrading the road that connects Bahir Dar town to Tis Esat town. It is constructed to double carriageway asphalt concrete surfacing with segregated bike lane.

Key Features of the Project

  • Design and construction of 10.6km long traffic lane, bike lane and walkway [34.5m] and 10.6km long traffic lane and bike lane [25.64] double carriageway asphalt concrete (DC-6) road  
  • Design and construction of 4.5km long walkway as a spur road
  • Design and construction of twin (two) 100m long pedestrian suspension bridge on Abay River
  • Design and construction of 13.627km (main canal) irrigation system
  • Two roadway major (bridge) structures

  • The entire road is a double carriageway urban road with segregated bike lane
